Preface

Over the years, I've seen many ear training programs designed to test students on what they already know. But these programs always seem to emphasize testing, not training of the ear. How do students practice ear training?

Although tools to aid ear training have been around for a long time, methods of practice have been largely inefficient. For example, many students are in the simultaneous process of...

  • learning to play an instrument
  • trying to locate where certain pitches are
  • trying to learn what to call these pitches
While these are essential goals, the combination of these tasks can hinder a students ability to associate pitch with terms. A true understanding of what one hears remains abstract for a much longer period of time than necessary. This often creates an environment of frustration, confusion, and stress for the student. Therefore, I decided to provide an extremely efficient way to practice, not test, ear training.

I BELIEVE THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST EFFICIENT METHODS OF EAR TRAINING PRACTICE YOU WILL EVER COME ACROSS. It is accomplished by using a simple association of seeing numbers while you hear sound. Don't just listen to what you hear. Sing numbers with the exercises relating to pitch. It will take a fraction of the amount of time to learn the material this way.

This tool can save you years of time and effort and make it easier for you to take music in whatever direction you prefer. All you have to do is use it consistently.

Enjoy!
